Ladakh apart, China entered Sikkim too
While Indian troops challenged the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) at Chumar in Ladakh over the construction of a road, China continued to build two more roads into Indian territory-one in Sikkim and the other in Ladakh several kilometres from Chumar, reports Deeptiman Tiwary. The road in Sikkim was around 200m inside Indian territory and shocked the forces since there is no border dispute with China in the state. “It took a long process of going through various records and convincing them that it was indeed our territory ,“ said a security establishment officer.

In Ladakh, the road was 400m inside India. Both roads were destroyed by the Indian forces and the issue resolved without a stand-off.
