Yet another Hindu temple was threatened of an attack in Australia on Thursday. According to the details, Kaali Mata temple in Melbourne was targeted by Khalistanis.
In a call made to the temple priest, an unidentified person said the ‘bhajans’ at the temples should be cancelled or there would be consequences to face.
Talking to the local media, temple priest Bhawna said, “I pleaded with him, bhai ji this is Ma Kali’s (Hindu Goddess Kali) place, even Guru Maharaj (Guru Govind Singh) used to pray here. Why would someone come and fight here.”
“The caller said his job was to warn about consequences,” the temple priest further said.
Melbourne Kali Mata Temple is also being threatened.
On Wednesday, a Ram Mandir was defaced in Canada’s Mississauga as miscreants scribbled anti-India graffiti over the walls. The incident sparked an outrage, following which, the Consulate General of India in Toronto called for prompt action.
“We strongly condemn the defacing of Ram Mandir in Mississauga with anti-India graffiti. We have requested Canadian authorities to investigate the incident and take prompt action on perpetrators,” the consulate tweeted.
This was not the first time that a Hindu Temple in Canada was defaced with anti-India graffiti.
In January, a Hindu Temple in Brampton, Canada was defaced with hate-filled messages directed towards India, causing an outrage among the Indian community.
Even in Dhaka, unidentified miscreants vandalised 14 Hindu temples in a series of orchestrated attacks overnight. The incident occurred on February 5.
Barman, the general secretary of the upazila’s Puja Celebration Council, said some of the idols were destroyed while some were found in pond waters along the temple sites.
